The title Nalai Namathe might remind you of an MGR classic from bygone era. But we are talking about Jose Maveli's upcoming film, which has been named after the MGR film because it is so close to MGR's ideologies. Truly different from the run-of-the-mill movies of Kollywood, Nalai Namathe is about the protagonist who struggles to raise the standards of the society he lives in. The film, which has slight communist overtone, is based on the concept that government should make Rs. 500 crores the maximum limit for property that could be owned by anyone and should confiscate any excess, to be distributed to the poor and needy.
Naalai Namathey movie story and screenplay have been written by Vinayan, who also takes care of the direction; Vinayan has directed successful movies like Kasi, En Manavanil and Arputha Theevu so far. He is noted for making films with completely different storylines.
Nalai Namathe stars a Koothu Pattarai student Pradeep as the hero and Tanisha is the heroine. Others in the cast include Kiran, Dindigul Sarathy Karthika, Manivannan, Rajan B. Dev, Ashish Vidyarthi, Charlie and M.S. Bhaskar. The shooting will be held in eight locations including Kerala, Chennai and Pandi.

The most astonishing fact is that the producer Jose Maveli runs an orphanage in Kerala, which houses 300 children. No wonder Nam Nadu's story attracted the producer.
