Shammu, an NRI who was born in Neivelli and moved to Chennai last year. For she always dreamt of acting in movies and the days when she would share the screen with her matinee idol Kamal Haasan. One day her daydream came true when K.S. Ravikumar gave her a small role in Dasavatharam! The advice that K.S.R gave also proved to be beneficial; he had asked her to get a profile done by a renowned photographer and one day when she was browsing through her own portfolio, Mayilu director spotted her and requested her to show the profile. Voila! She was offered her the lead role immediately. Prakash Raj who is also the producer of Mayilu was quite impressed with her and recommended her to Priyadarshan. That is how she got a chance to act in Kanchivaram. Looks like Lady Luck set off some pleasant chain reaction in her life! Now the young lady is acting in her fifth film, Matthi Yosi. She has already completed her work in Mayilu and Malayan.
